She transitioned into the public sector through the Associate Programme where she was matched with a placement at the London Borough of Lewisham as Senior Urban Design Officer. Her role sat within the Strategic Planning Team at Lewisham’s Place Directorate. There, she works alongside development management to ensure high-quality design is championed throughout the planning process. She also supports colleagues in the Planning Policy Team to review and update strategic plans to promote design-led development.

During her placement, she reinstated design surgery within the planning service, created a design curriculum for development management colleagues, wrote vision documents to guide development within the town centre, and produced a background paper on tall building suitability zones for inclusion in the borough’s emerging Local Plan.
