Senior Policy Officer (Planning, Environment)
About
Tim is a landscape architect and urban designer with experience gained in the private, public and third sectors. He has worked across several streams of work including transport, education, housing and energy infrastructure. Before joining the Autumn Cohort 2022, he worked at The Environment Partnership, where he led projects in green and blue infrastructure strategy and high street regeneration.
Alongside his work, Tim also acted as a guest lecturer to architecture, landscape architecture and town planning students at several northern universities. He is an ambassador for the PLACED Academy in Liverpool, working with secondary school students interested in a career in the built environment.
Autumn Cohort 2022
North Yorkshire Council
He was matched with the role of Senior Policy Officer at North Yorkshire Council, assigned with leading the North Yorkshire & York Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS). The LNRS is one of the biggest in England and will inform the government's national vision for nature recovery.
During his placement, he managed the LNRS project team, set up a steering group, and led on extensive stakeholder consultation. He established project governance and built relationships between a diverse range of stakeholders including politicians, National Parks, e-NGO’s, public health registrars, flood risk managers, footpath officers, ecologists, farmers, arborists and data analysts. He moved the project forward and prepared it for the next step of public consultation.
