Jack Bennett

Principal Urban Designer

About

Jack is an architect specialising in community-led development and urban design. During his time at PRP Architects, he worked on masterplanning and placemaking projects including proposals for a new neighbourhood and public park homes in Surrey.

He was previously a founding director at Heat Island where he led the delivery of a new community teaching kitchen for a Rhyl school in Gospel Oak. Jack is also a board trustee at Forest Community Land Trust based in Waltham Forest, where he leads the community hub – a co-designed vision for a new co-designed community hub project which was a finalist for the Clarion William Sutton Prize.

Uttlesford District Council

As a Principal Urban Designer for Uttlesford District Council, Jack worked on the new Local Plan and led strategic developments – from considering locations to masterplanning and design codes. As design lead, Jack worked with a wide range of stakeholders to embed design quality in Local Plan policies and allocations, design guidance, site masterplans and design codes. He also provided advice and training to the Development Management team.
