About

Jesse is an urban planner with a background in GIS and affordable housing. Before joining the Autumn Cohort 2023, she worked at the Chicago Housing Authority, designing interactive data-visualisation tools to support decision-making and transparency. Her expertise in leveraging data visualisations and user experience feedback has created more inclusive processes for many stakeholders.

Jesse is passionate about expanding the inclusivity of active travel and the public realm. She completed a master's degree in City Planning at the University College London, focusing her thesis on the relationship between women's participation in cycling and its practice and perception in London.

Autumn Cohort 2023

London Borough of Wandsworth and Richmond

As part of our Autumn Cohort 2023, Jesse took on the role of Transport Strategy Programme Co-ordinator for Richmond and Wandsworth Councils. She was responsible for monitoring the delivery of her team's schemes ensuring effective reporting, cross-team coordination, and financial management. Jesse led the development and implementation of transport projects focused on buses, walkability and cycling infrastructure to enhance accessibility and connectivity across Roehampton Ward in Wandsworth, aligning with a larger renewal plan.

Her work included designing consultations, launching a community minibus, analysing bus data, lobbying for improvements, and partnering with the community on new cycle routes and pedestrian enhancements, all while actively participating in community engagement events.
