Alex Govier

Alex is the Partnerships Manager at Public Practice. He works closely with Local Authorities and the wider Public Sector to understand their challenges regarding resourcing, capacity building, funding, and delivery.

Alex started his career at the House of Commons, working in an MP’s office to support the community they represented. In Parliament, he developed a passion for the inclusive design of places and an understanding of how Local Government can address inequalities and social mobility through placemaking.

Since then, Alex has lived across the UK, covering Scotland, Yorkshire and the Humber, and the South East, which has contributed to his interest in tackling the placemaking disparities between regions. He has worked extensively with public and private sector organisations and has experience in bringing the private and public sectors together to improve policy and practice.

Alex joined Public Practice in Spring 2022 and is developing and nurturing our relationships with local authorities and national bodies as our Partnerships Manager.
