Job Details
Do you want to play a leading role in an award-winning regeneration programme?
Then this might be the perfect opportunity for you. Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic, and social makeup. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough, and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.
The South Kilburn Regeneration Programme is widely recognised for delivering a sustainable, thriving neighbourhood with a real sense of place and belonging. The Programme is delivering a diverse range of housing and regeneration projects, including schools, parks, a medical centre, affordable workspace, a district heat network, a tree-lined boulevard, and a signalised traffic junction, each of which is rewarding and challenging in equal measure.
We are just over halfway through this ambitious programme and are looking to recruit a senior project manager to build on the past successes and move the programme forward from strength to strength.
The Role
The Programme is at a pivotal and exciting stage as we prepare to begin the dialogue to appoint a Single Delivery Partner with proven experience in delivering multi-phase regeneration programmes, with a strong emphasis on placemaking and community wealth building. You will play a key role in shaping the tone and direction of this dialogue — helping to attract the right partner and set the foundations for a successful, long-term relationship. This will include ensuring the partnership is supported by clear, robust contractual and legal frameworks.
As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll join a high-performing team of regeneration and housing professionals, leading on the definition, design, planning, procurement and delivery of high-profile capital projects. You’ll manage a small team of Development Managers, as well as a wider group of consultants and contractors while working closely with colleagues across the Council and with voluntary and community sector partners.
As part of the Service’s management team, you’ll also support the Head of Service in delivering the Council’s ambitious agenda for inclusive regeneration and local economic development.
Role Reporting
- you will be responsible for 2-3 Assistant Project Managers
- You will also be responsible for several consultants, contractors and project teams e.g small to large size developer partners, architects, urban designers, cost consultants, structural surveyors
- You will report to the Head of Estates Regeneration
About You
You’ll bring strong, hands-on experience in the development process — from writing business cases and assessing project viability to securing planning permission and managing procurement and construction contracts.
You’ll understand the estate regeneration process and have experience in delivering high-quality homes and places. You’ll also have a good understanding of the commercial and legal aspects of development agreements. Most importantly, you’ll be passionate about creating better opportunities and outcomes for local residents.
We’re looking for someone who brings both technical expertise and a strong sense of purpose. You’ll likely have:
- Practical experience across the development process, including writing business cases, assessing viability, securing planning permission, and managing procurement and construction contracts.
- A good understanding of development agreements, including their commercial and legal structures.
- Knowledge of estate regeneration, including the challenges and opportunities involved.
- Experience delivering high-quality homes and neighbourhoods with a focus on design, sustainability and community benefit.
- A collaborative approach, able to work across teams, partners and communities to get things done.
- A commitment to social impact, with a passion for improving life chances and outcomes for residents.
Job Package
- £64,317 – £67,812 per annum salary
- 3.2% pension contribution
- 27 days holiday per annum
